Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by the Broke and the Bookish
This week's topic is hyped books I've never read, and honestly, I haven't read many hyped books, so it's pretty easy for me. Here it is!
I've heard many good things about this book, and it intrigued me. The only reason I haven't read this is because the amount of books in this series. As far as I know, this series will have 6 books, and honestly I'm not really interested to read that many. Maybe someday if I'm in the mood of series, I'll pick this one.
Same with Throne of Glass. Even though I've read the first book and quite like it, this series lost its appeal to me. I do like The Infernal Devices, though.
3. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
When I see the cover, I thought it was about a boys-only organization set in medieval era. I know, it's ridiculous and the real story is much more interesting. I might try this one soon!
4. Uprooted by Naomi Novik
The story is pretty interesting to me. The reason I haven't read this one is because I never found it in the local bookstore (the bookstore here is suck. It mostly sold old and popular books, which I either have read or uninterested) and I'm too lazy to buy online. If I found it in bookstore, I'll buy it!
5. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Same with Uprooted. I've never seen it in bookstore here. Will read if I can found this (and hopefully I can, because it's sounds great)
6. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
I'm conflicted with this one. The thing that make me interested with this book is the setting and world-building, but some reviews say that it's not really great. I still don't know whether I should read it or not.
7. The Maze Runner by James Dashner
I guess I'm just tired with dystopia books where the world is going to end. Though my friend said that this book is way cooler than the movie, I prefer to watch the movie.
8. Allegiant by Veronica Roth
While I like Divergent, Insurgent is simply boring for me. That's why I have no interest reading this one. Also, I already how it end so no point to read it.
9. The Heir by Kiera Cass
I admit that at first, The Selection is pretty interesting, but not long after that, it became boring. I didn't ship anyone and I don't even care who she ends up with. So when I hear about this book, I'm not interested. Also, I heard that the MC is pretty annoying.
10. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I don't even know why I haven't read this. This book is available at my school's library and the setting is in Europe. What am I waiting for?

Am I missing anything by not reading these books? Which one should I read? Don't forget to share your TTT, I might find more hyped books I haven't read :)
I've seen An Ember and the Ashes and TMI in quite a lot of bloggers. Those books were pretty great (although I like TID better than TMI). I have a copy of The Heir but I'm not sure if I'll ever read it.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
I like TID too, especially because the setting! Ah well, at least The Heir has a pretty cover :)
DeleteI read the first three TMI books and I do plan to continue them BUT they sort of lost their magic after book two. I'm going to start TID too as the series sort of slot together. I still need to read Throne of Glass to see if it lives up to the hype! Really good list :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT!
Yes, I don't know why, but it's bore me, especially after I know how it end. TID is much more interesting in my opinion :) Hope you like it!
DeleteI never read The Raven Boys either... I made it through half of the first book and then just couldn't do it anymore! I haven't gotten to the Maze Runner yet either, it isn't something that I think I'd really be into! Great list!
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT!
It's actually pretty interesting, but I'm not in the mood of some fantasy right now. Soon, hopefully xD Me too! Even though my friend say it's really good, I'm not interested to read it.
DeleteDaughter of Smoke and Bone is one of my favourites. I really liked Throne of Glass too.I agree Insurgent wasn't up to much, but Allegiant is better. MyTTT
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it! Will borrow it as soon as I'm back to school :D Many people seems to like it as well, maybe I really should try Throne of Glass!
DeleteIf you get a chance to read Uprooted, do it!! I'm not ever going to read Allegiant either. I lost interest in the series and in the author, sadly. I want to try The Raven Boys one of these days, but I'm waiting for the last book to come out so I can binge-read.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Throne of Glass. I hope you get the opportunity to try it out! :-) Thank you for stopping by my blog earlier!
ReplyDeleteI didn't like Throne of Glass but I was promised that the series gets better so I should give it a chance.
ReplyDeleteSo many of your books are also on my mine!
I read An Ember in the Ashes and honestly, I don't think the hype is worth it. It was okay as in it wasn't spectacular but I don't hate it.
I actually liked Allegiant and Throne of Glass was fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Here's my TTT
My $30 giveaway ends soon so check it out.
Oh my gosh, saammme! Seriously, almost all of these were the same for me! I did a Top 10 Tuesday (not on this topic though /: ) here: https://princessicaofbooks.wordpress.com/2015/07/07/top-10-tuedays-standalones/
ReplyDeleteAh, I haven't read most of these either. The only two I have read are The Maze Runner and Allegiant. I think the movie version of The Maze Runner really improved on the book--so, in my opinion, if you're happy with the movie, it wouldn't hurt to just stick with that. And I haven't yet decided what I think about Allegiant. There were reasons why I really liked it, but if you found Insurgent boring, you might find Allegiant boring for the same reasons. Honestly Divergent was the best out of the trilogy anyway.
ReplyDeleteBut I definitely want to check out some of the books you listed, like An Ember in the Ashes and Throne of Glass and The Ravens Boys and... Actually, come to think about it, I pretty much want to read all the books you mentioned. And it's funny because I'm the exact opposite--I usually prefer to order online because it's a good deal cheaper (although I do like buying from book stores, and I do like getting my books right away).
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting!
I waited for a really long time to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone before I finally got to it. I recommend getting to that one soon because it's pretty good! The world is amazing. :) I'm reading Uprooted right now and I totally understand why it has so much hype. Red Queen is super exciting! The Throne of Glass series may be super long, but it's totally worth it. It's one of the best fantasy series I've read.
ReplyDeleteHaha I haven't read any of these either! Although, quite a few of them are on my to-read shelf and I hope to get to them soon :) I'm conflicted on The Ember in the Ashes too. There were a lot of raving reviews, but also quite a few 'eh' reviews. I'm not sure if that book would be good for me or not :/
ReplyDeleteAhh you simply MUST read Throne of Glass. I beg you, please do it !! I really enjoyed TMI and The Raven Boys. They're both pretty enjoyable with great characters. Red Queen and AEITA are absorbing and total movie-blockbuster material yet they're a bit cliche. You're not missing anything by skipping The Heir & Allegiant. Nice picks!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone was AMAZING! You should really read it. I haven't read Throne of Glass, either, but it's way up high on my TBR list :)

New bloglovin follower. I haven't read Uprooted, The Maze Runner either, so don't feel bad about those. The rest of the books you mentioned are really excellent. I hope you love all of them when you get a chance.
