In a perfect world, sixteen-year-old Phoebe Martins’ life would be a book. Preferably a YA novel with magic and a hot paranormal love interest. Unfortunately, her life probably wouldn’t even qualify for a quiet contemporary. But when Phoebe finds out that Dev, the hottest guy in the clarinet section, might actually have a crush on her, she turns to her favorite books for advice. Phoebe overhauls her personality to become as awesome as her favorite heroines and win Dev’s heart. But if her plan fails, can she go back to her happy world of fictional boys after falling for the real thing?

Why You Should Read Bookishly Ever After

1) A Bookworm MC!
Basically, this is why I'm interested with Bookishly Ever After. A book with a character who also love books? Count me in! I admit that there's a lot of books which feature bookworm characters, but more often than not, they didn't actually read. It's just mentioned, or even if they do, it's just one book. But not with this book! Phoebe actually reads everywhere--in the school, in her house, even in the mall. There's also a scenes where she went to a book signings and dressed up as one of her favorite characters! So basically, Phoebe is me, and every single book blogger in this world.

2) Adorable romance (plus swoon-worthy love interest!)
So this is me everytime Dev and Phoebe talks (especially around the last few chapters) :

Also, let's not forget the swoon-worthy love interest, Dev! He's sassy and funny--which basically my type of guy--but there's one thing that made me love him. He. Freakin. Read. For. Phoebe. Yes, he actually buy a book because he know Phoebe loves to read. Let's be real, how many guy would do that? I never met a guy like that. He's definitely going to make it to my book boyfriend list.

3) Quotes from Phoebe's books
Another thing that I like from this book is the quotes (okay, but what do you call an almost-one-chapter quote? Scenes, maybe?) from Phoebe's YA books. In almost every chapter, there's a scene from Phoebe's books. If you've read Fangirl, well, it's kinda like that--except it's from several books and series, not just one series. Now I'm hoping that Isabel will write one of those books!

Why 4 stars? Well you see, 95% of this book consist of the romance between Dev and Phoebe. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I wish there's some family relationship too. I actually like the Phoebe's family, and I wish there's more of them. Nevertheless, I'm still highly recommending this book, especially if you're looking for a light and fun book.

  2. I've heard nothing but good things about this, and your review has just convinced me to pick it up! I haven't read a book with a bookworm as a protagonist yet, which makes me even more excited for this! xD And yeah for wonderful romance! Thanks for sharing Tiffany and, as always, fabulous review! ♥

  3. Nice review, Tiffany! Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with it. I guess I was expecting too much. And it didn't help that my arc was distorted on my ereader for some reason, so the text really appeared funky sometimes. Anyway, I'm still really happy that you enjoyed this!
