Thursday, November 2, 2017
For us book bloggers and readers, book conventions and book fairs are not an unfamiliar term to hear. After all, we basically live for it. But there's a first time in everything, including attending book conventions. If you're planning to attending your first book con sometimes in the near future (fyi, there's a romance book con called Love N Books, which will be held in Vegas this October 27th - 29th), don't worry, because I'll give you some tips to survive it! Without further ado, here they are :

Friday, February 3, 2017

As an introvert bookworm, I definitely would choose staying at home reading rather than going out any days (well, not any days, but most days). I mean, who doesn't love curling up in bed just reading or watching movies? When Leesa Mattress asked me what my staying-in essentials are, I thought it would be fun to share with you guys! My Dream Bookish Panel

Friday, January 20, 2017

Every international blogger knows how hard it is to attend a bookish panel. Me is no different. Up until this point, I've never attend one because there isn't any in my country. The closest one is probably in Philippines, and it still cost a lot of money to go there. So when Eventbrite is running a project to encourage bloggers to share their dream bookish panel, I thought why not? Since I can't attend one, might as well make one! If you haven't heard of Eventbrite, they are the largest self service ticketing platform that helps people find and plan events with their event planning softwareHere it is!

Why I Never Pre-Order Books

Friday, June 24, 2016

I have come into a conclusion that I'm probably the only person in this community that's never ever pre-ordered a book. Why??, you might ask. How do you even resist those swags?, another ask. And so, that's why I decide to write a post about it.

Before starting it, let me tell you something : being an international blogger is hard, especially if your country is not an English-speaking one. I couldn't attend a book events or author signing because there's no such thing. I rarely get physical ARCs, and even sometimes got declined for eARCs because territorial things or something I don't understand. I couldn't enter many giveaways (especially the one hosted by publisher, which ironically the most awesome one). In here, we often have to wait for months (or years!) for new books to finally show up. And in here, the bookstore is so small, my house is even bigger than it.

Okay, I'm not here to rant about how being an international blogger sucks since it has some perks too, but it's part of the reasons. Anyway, here's why :

Pen Name and Its Purpose

Friday, February 19, 2016

Ever since a long time ago until now, many authors use pen name. In case you didn't know (which I doubt), pen name is basically a fake name created by author or whoever in the publisher. Eventhough I already know the term "pen name" since a long time ago, I still didn't exactly understand why authors use pen name. After I do some searching on Google, I got some reasons why authors use pen name :

The Importance of Translation

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

Can you imagine if classic books such as Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy remain in its original language? Chance are, those books wouldn't be as popular as now because only people who can read in Russian can read those books. That's why, to me, translation is really important. and translation software like Smartling really help a lot peoples.

Admit it, we all have a reading habit that looks weird for other people, but it's normal for us. For example, one of my friends like to reading while eating. Not many people do that (or is it just me who didn't?)

Insurgent : Movie vs. Book

After had a week full of tests and projects, I've been going out a lot in the weekend with my friends which resulted in watching Insurgent twice. I kinda regretted it, actually, since the movie is a bit disappointing.
