Top Ten Books I'll Probably Never Read (13)

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's topic is books we'll probably never read. This is pretty hard since if a book didn't interest me, I won't remember the title. But I manage to remember some, and here it is!

1. Carrie by Stephen King
I'm not a fan of horror movie or book, so I'm not going to read this book (or any book by Stephen King).

2. Hades by Alexandra Adornetto
I borrowed Halo (the first book) a few weeks ago from my school's library. But after I read a few chapters, I DNF it because the characters are just too plain for me and I sense some insta-love. It's pretty clear I won't read the second book.

3. A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
I know that a lot of people like this book, but it never interest me. I tried to watch the TV show once and didn't understand a thing...

4. Crossed by Ally Condie
Again with the I-DNF-the-first-book thing. Matched actually interest me at first, but turns out it's pretty different from my expectation.

5. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
Actually, I'm not 100% sure that it's a horror book (some says it supernatural), but the cover kinda creep me out, so I won't buy or read it anytime soon.

6. Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James
I think my parents will burn this book if they see it in my shelf..(hey, I'm still 16!)

7. The Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling
I really want to read this book, but even the summary didn't interest me.

8. The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien
I tried once, but stop reading it after a few pages. It's too boring for me (the movie is awesome, though)

9. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
I just don't like the idea. It seems weird for me.

10. The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown
I actually like the movie, but I never have the interest to read the book.

So that's my top ten! Have you read any of these books? If so, do you think it's great?

  1. I actually haven't read any books on your list. However, I agree with the Lord of The Rings - I probably won't read that book either. And (of course) Fifty Shades of Grey -NEVER. Great list!

  2. Uglies is actually really good....but I don't know about the rest of the series. I agree with the rest of your list though! Already got rid of Crossed, at least I tried???

  3. I don't think that I'll read the Halo series. I've just heard so many bad things about it.

  4. As much as I love Harry Potter, I haven't been interested enough to pick up any of J.K. Rowling's other books either.

  5. I love Harry Potter but I don't think I would ever read any of J.K. Rowling's other works. I think it wouldn't live up to its hype. I also included Game of Thrones on my list, it's not something I ever plan on reading. I didn't include the Lord of the Rings on my list but it's not something I'd read either.

  6. If you don't like horror, I don't think you'll like Anna Dressed in Blood. It is more "supernatural" in nature, but there is enough of a horror element you might be turned off. Great list!

  7. After watching The Casual Vacancy mini-series, I'm glad I didn't waste my time on the book. Or maybe the book was amazing and it didn't translate well to television?

Congratulations! You've been nominated for a Liebster Award! See this post for the rules: http://cynthiasonpensandneedles.blogspot.com/2015/05/liebster-award.html

  8. I read LOTR, it was OK, but I wasn't going to rave about it. The Da Vinci code OTOH was Brilliant!! That one I loved!! Both book AND movie!!! I have not read any of the others.

  9. If it means anything or not - Anna isn't actually scary at all, even though it's considered a Halloween book in the YA genre. No clue why though ahaha! And yeah, I wouldn't go grab Hades any time soon. I absolutely detest the series *shudders*

  10. The characters in Halo were too plain for me too! It wasn't a very memorable book for me, so I doubt I'll ever read Hades either. I'm just not interested in it. There are so many other books to read instead! :)

  11. I tried the Casual Vacancy not too long ago because, hello, J.K. Rowling, but I just couldn't get into it. The writing was not something that I was accustomed to and in the end I had to DNF it. I miss her writing back in the Harry Potter world >_<
