Cinderella Book Tag!

Thursday, July 9, 2015

This is actually the first time I've been tagged, so I'm pretty excited. Huge thanks for Kezia @ Chapteriosity for tagging me! Anyway, here's my answers :

Evil Stepsisters
a book with character you hate

Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill

The MC--Julia, I think--is really really annoy me. She always think that she's better than other people because she's smart and she's teachers' favorite and spend her free time actually looking around London and not shopping like her friends. I just really dislike her.

Prince Charming
a book with gentleman

Magnolia by Kristi Cook

I recently read this book and Ryder Marsden is definitely a gentleman. Seriously, he's just really sweet. And nice. And kind. Jemma is one lucky girl. I wish he was real *sigh dreamily*

Cinderella
a character that is kind, graceful, and defiant

Kestrel from The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski

I was pretty confused at first, but Cinderella reminds me of Kestrel. She wore dress most of the times, yet she could fight. Also, she never back down from a fight. That makes me admire her.

Fairy Godmother
a character that always has someone looking out for them

Harry, Ron, and Hermione from Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling

Need I say more? The trio always look out for each other. Their friendship is definitely one of the best friendship I've ever read.

Helpful Creature
something that makes you happy when you're sad

Books, of course! I often found myself reading when I'm feeling sad. It's so easy to forget my problem and lose in their world instead. And also, watching movies can cheer me up!

Pumpkin
a character with transformation

Juliette from Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi

Juliette's transformation is amazing! She changes from a coward, scared, and loathe-herself girl in book one into a brave and smart girl in book three. Tahereh really did a great job in transforming her.

Ashes
a book you didn't care for

The One by Kiera Cass

The Selection is actually pretty interesting. I like the concept of it. But when I read The One, I found that I don't care. I don't care about the country and I don't care who she end up with. It's just really bore me.

Impossible
a book with an ending you didn't see coming

Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas

Definitely this book. My first thought after I read this was "holy shit the ending" and "what the fuck did I just read?" It was really really unexpected! Though, actually, when I thought about it again, there's some signs that show me how it'll end.

Just Breathe
something that inspire you to be courageous

Golden by Jessi Kirby

This book teach me to do something that I didn't normally do. Usually, I only do a normal stuff, but after I read this book, I realize that life is too precious to do just normal stuff.

Happily Ever After
a book with a perfect ending

Champion by Marie Lu

I was conflicted with this one because there's so many books that have a perfect ending, but I decide to choose Champion. The ending is just unique, beautiful, and realistic. It's pretty sad, but for me it's perfect.

So that's my answer! Now I tag..

So that's my tag! What do you think of my answers?

  2. I love love love Ryder! <3 He was such a sweetheart! I was totally jealous of the MC! :P
Oh yes! Kestrel is definitely a Cinderalla-esque character.
The ending of Dangerous Girls was CRAZY!! I saw it coming but then I didn't see it coming. Haha! That was one confusing book for me. And Golden was such an inspiring read. You're making me want to go re-read it.

  3. I actually love some of the choices you've made- definitely not my first thoughts, but they work all the same. I totally agree that Julia from Meant to Be was pretty unlikable, but I grew to like her nonetheless. That book was just too cute to ignore, haha. YES to Kestrel being Cinderella. I think she's more of a kick-butt version of Cinderella, though. Both are the kind of people willing to work (and fight!) for what they want, so I think your comparison is totally spot on. OH MAN, Champion. That book honest to goodness shattered all of my feels. Thank the heavens we had that epilogue, or I never would have made it. It was absolutely heart-breaking, but man, it was beautifully, beautifully written. Great choice there. <3

You've got some awesome picks here, Tiffany! Lovely, lovely post.

    1. Yeah, I have to agree that the romance is cute. If Julia didn't annoy me, I think I'll love that book xD I actually didn't think that far when I pick Kestrel as Cinderella, but now that you write it, it made sense! IKR! If Champion didn't have an epilogue I think I'll hunt down Marie Lu to give us an epilogue xD I agree with beautifully written, I think it's my favorite part from Champion!
      Thanks, Aneeqah!
