What if the person you were falling for was a total mystery?

While Lily is spacing out in Chemistry one day, she picks up her pencil and scribbles a line from one of her favorite songs on the desk. The next day, someone else has written back to her on the desk! Soon enough Lily and the mystery student are exchanging notes, and lyrics, and even sharing secrets. When Lily finds out that her anonymous pen pal is a guy, she's flustered -- and kind of feels like she's falling for him. She and her best friend set out to unravel the identity of the letter writer -- but when the truth is revealed, the guy is the LAST person Lily could have ever imagined it to be. Now that Lily knows the truth, can she untangle her feelings and gather the courage to listen to her heart?

From beloved author Kasie West (The Distance Between Us) comes an utterly charming story about mixed messages, missed connections, and the magic of good old-fashioned secret admirer notes.

*I receive an ARC from the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange of honest review. Thank you Scholastic Point for the book!

When I first saw the email that I was approved for this book, I literally screamed and dropped my phone (fortunately, I was charging my phone at that time so it didn't hit the floor). Yes, I was that excited for this book. This the fourth book by Kasie West that I read, and as expected, she didn't disappoint.

Lily Abbot really hates chemistry, so what does she do to kill time? Writing songs in class, of course! Unfortunately, the teacher see this and banned her notebook from the class. So of course, she decide to write her favorite line from her favorite song by an indie band on the desk, What she didn't expect is, someone actually  know the next line in the song and write it on the desk too! Because of that, they start discussing their favorite band--and eventually, their life--without knowing who is who.

Personally, I really adore Lily! She's an aspiring songwriter, a little bit shy/awkward (I mean, she has no problem confront her nemesis in front of the school, but she never ever want to show other people her songs), and has a dry humors (frankly, she remind me of Carmen by The Distance Between Us). I found myself relate to her almost all the time, and that's probably why I never get bored reading from her perspective. There's also Isabel, Lily's talkative best-friend. These two have that kind of friendship everyone wants, and also supportive toward each other. And of course, there's the mystery guy too! Honestly, it was so obvious who the mystery guy is (you know it's the love interest when the MC kept bumping into him everywhere), but it's okay and did not ruin the plot at all. I love love the mystery guy, and I really want to rave about how awesome and lovable he is, but I can't do that without spoiling him, so I'll leave the mystery guy a mystery for now. One thing for sure, I think he will be your next book boyfriends ;)

The romance in this book is only between Lily and mystery guy. No love-triangle, love-geometry, or love-whatever, so you guys have nothing to worry about! As expected, the romance is so adorable (especially the last few pages. I even re-read it several times) and cute and a bit cheesy (but that make me like it even more) and overall so Kasie West-like.

One last thing that I want to talk about is the family aspect. Lily's family consist of a funny parents (seriously, they're always compete against each other, like who made the best pie, etc. This is the kind of relationship that I want), an older sister, and two little brothers. Because of that and the fact that their house isn't really big, it's a little bit chaos there. This is something we rarely see in YA these day, and also something that I can relate to (eventhough my brothers aren't as loud as Lily's). This makes me adore this book even more. Can't say the same for mystery guy's family, though (seriously, I just want to hug him forever).

In conclusion, P.S. I Like You is definitely one of my favorite books this year--and possibly my favorite too from Kasie West! I definitely recommend this to everyone, especially if you love Kasie's previous books. You guys don't want to miss this one!
