Singapore (and Malaysia) Trip Recap

So, as you may or may not know, a few weeks ago I said that I'll go to Singapore on July 1st until July 5th. Well, I lied (not really) because I went to Malaysia too. In fact, I spend more time in Malaysia rather than in Singapore. So what did I do in my vacation?

Day 1

Day 1 is very boring. So basically I just landed on Changi airport in Singapore, then went to Johor Bahru (Malaysia) using bus. And then we went to the hotel. Just like that? YES. But we were very tired at that time. Also, we're lazy to go somewhere because the hotel is pretty far from the mall. So yeah, we just stay at the hotel.

Day 2

On the contrary, day 2 is pretty exciting. We visited Legoland! I know what you're thinking, "Aren't you too old for Legoland?" The answer is yes, but a) my brother is like a lego collector (especially Star Wars) so I didn't really have a choice. My other choice was stay at the hotel, which is BORING and b) I never went to Legoland before so I'm curious about it!

We went there from 10 am until 4 pm. There's not many rides in there, but there's many impressive things made from Lego. Here's a few of it

I had a great time there

Day 3
(aka the day when we actually went to Singapore)

Like when we came, we went back to Singapore by bus. Unfortunately, the supposed-half-an-hour trip turn into two-hours trip because freakin traffic jam! To make it worse, the bus is so crowded that we have to stand still and tried to keep our suitcases from bothering people (as far as I know, we were the only one who bring suitcases).

After that, we went to the apartment in Orchard Road, then take a walk there. In case you don't know, Orchard Road is a famous road full of mall. Seriously, everywhere you glance, there's mall. It's awesome and made me want to live there forever. (for some reason, I didn't take many photos, only this)

After spending time in there, we went by MRT to Gardens by the Bay in Marina Bay. We didn't actually went inside the garden because we have to pay S$ 28 each (that's like US$ 21, I think) and there's five of us, so no (also, I rather spend it for books and foods). But we did take a stroll at the small park around the garden, and it's beautiful.

Day 4

We plan to go to Sentosa that day, but unexpectedly, it was raining that morning so we have to postpone it. Around 10 pm, we went to Sentosa to see (of course) the infamous Universal Globe. I've been to Universal Studios before so I didn't go in there again, but we still taking many photos.

After that, we went to IKEA. Why did we went to IKEA? The answer : we want to try Swedish Meatballs that's served in IKEA Restaurant. Okay, so my dad said that he read in some travel/food blogs that it's so good, and since we all love food (who doesn't?), we decide to try it. And let me tell you, that food is DELICIOUS. If you happen to go there, you totally should try it. And the almond chocolate with butterscotch cake too (who doesn't love cake?).

YOU NEED THIS
AND THIS TOO

We went to Chinatown after that. As expected, it's crowded, both with people and stalls. Which make me lazy to take a photo so no photo there.

For the second time, we went to Orchard road again. Turns out, they closed some parts of the road so we could take a walk in the middle of the road. This is a new experiences of me, because the few times I went to Singapore, it never happened so I'm pretty happy about it. We spend the night just walking in there, and, of course, a little shopping.

And finally, the most important question..

Did I buy books?

The answer is yes, I did buy books. But if you're expecting a huge stack of books, then prepare to be disappointed because I only buy..2 books!

The Winner's Curse and The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski
I actually want to buy more but a) my parents didn't allow me, b) the price is more expensive than in my country, though the bookstore is more complete than the one in my country, and c) I bought a lot of things beside books so back to reason (a)

Better get 2 than none, right?

  3. Those are excellent book choices. xD I LOVE THE WINNER'S CRIME SO MUCH. It has an extraordinarily painfully wonderful cliffhanger. :')

OH. I've been to Malaysia before! It was a lay-over on our way to China tho, so we only saw the airport and a hotel and ate some seriously delicious food. hehe Cake is good. cAKE IS WONDERFUL.
